The AI agent

Tone & personality

Agent name

Your AI has a name that appears in text conversations. The default is Alex, but you can change it to anything — many owners use their own name, a business-specific name, or keep it generic.

Change it in Settings → Business Info → Agent name. The name applies immediately to all new conversations.

Communication tone

You can set the overall communication style of your AI. Options range from very professional to casual and conversational. The default is friendly and professional, which works for most service businesses.

Change it in Settings → AI Personality → Tone. The options are:

  • Formal / professional — structured, polished, no contractions
  • Friendly / professional (default) — warm but competent
  • Casual / conversational — relaxed, like a real person texting

Emoji

By default, the AI does not use emoji. You can enable them in Settings → AI Personality → Emoji. When enabled, the AI uses emoji sparingly and naturally — it won't overdo it.

Emoji work best for businesses with a friendly, consumer-facing brand (cleaning, landscaping, pet care). They can feel out of place for more technical trades (electrical, roofing, HVAC) — use your judgment.

Custom greeting

You can set a custom opening line for how the AI introduces itself. For example: "Hey! This is Alex from Greeny's HVAC." If left blank, the AI uses a natural default based on context.

Set this in Settings → AI Personality → Greeting.

Owner instructions

For more specific behavior, you can give the AI direct instructions in plain English. Examples:

  • "Always mention our 5-star Google rating when customers ask about quality."
  • "Never quote prices over text — always say we'll give a free estimate in person."
  • "If someone mentions they're a senior, offer the 10% senior discount."

Add these in Settings → AI Personality → Owner instructions. Instructions are injected into every conversation — keep them short and specific for best results.
