Coverage schedule
Coverage modes
Your AI can run in three modes. Change it anytime in Settings → AI Coverage.
- After hours only — AI responds only when you're outside your set business hours. During business hours, missed calls still get a text-back, but the AI notes that you're available and may be able to call back soon.
- Always on (24/7) — AI responds to every missed call at any time, day or night.
- Custom schedule — You define exactly which hours the AI is active, by day of week.
After-hours mode
This is the most common setup for service businesses. The AI handles evening, weekend, and holiday contacts — when you're on the job and can't pick up — while staying out of the way during business hours when you're more likely to answer yourself.
To use this mode, make sure your business hours are set correctly in Settings → Business Hours. The coverage schedule uses those hours to determine what's "after hours."
Always on (24/7)
Use this if you rarely answer calls during the day and want the AI to handle all missed calls regardless of time. Good for solo operators who are always on the job.
Custom schedule
You can set specific hours for each day of the week. For example:
- Monday–Friday: AI covers 6pm–8am
- Saturday–Sunday: AI covers all day
Set this in Settings → AI Coverage → Custom schedule. You can mark any day as "all day" or "off" (AI never responds that day).
Handling holidays
Coverage schedules follow your weekly pattern — there's no automatic holiday detection yet. If you want the AI to cover a holiday, either set it to Always On temporarily, or mark that day as "all day" in a custom schedule before the holiday. You can switch back after.
