Testing your AI
Before real customers start calling, take 5 minutes to run a test conversation. You'll see exactly how the AI responds and can fix anything that's off before it matters.
How to test your AI
Text your AdaptLocal number as if you were a customer. Try a few different scenarios:
- "Hey, I need a quote for [your most common service]"
- "How much do you charge for [service]?"
- "Do you have availability this week?"
- "What areas do you cover?"
The AI will recognize you as the owner and note that in its reply. Real customers won't see that — it's just a flag so you know the test is working. Respond as a customer would and follow the conversation through.
What to look for
Pricing: Does it quote the right prices? If a price is missing or wrong, update it in Settings → Services.
Services: Does it know what you offer? Add any missing services in Settings → Services.
Location: If you're a mobile business, does it ask for the customer's address? If you're fixed-location, does it mention where you're based?
Tone: Does it sound like your business? If it's too formal or too casual, adjust it in Settings → AI Personality.
FAQ answers: Ask it a question customers commonly ask. If the answer is wrong or missing, add it in Settings → FAQ.
Tuning responses
Most issues come down to missing context. The AI can only answer what it knows about your business. Common things to add:
- Services with prices — the AI uses this for every pricing question
- FAQ entries — add your most common questions and answers
- Business hours — so the AI knows when you're open
- Service area — for mobile businesses, how far you travel
- Tone instructions — any specific phrases to use or avoid
Common fixes
The AI gave the wrong price. Go to Settings → Services and update the price. Changes take effect immediately.
The AI said it doesn't know something it should know. Add it as a FAQ entry in Settings → FAQ.
The AI is being too pushy / not pushy enough. Adjust the tone in Settings → AI Personality.
The AI isn't asking for the customer's address. Check that your business is set as a mobile service in Settings → Business Info.
